Robert Y. Weller II is a shareholder and co-chair of Abbott Nicholson’s Motor Vehicle Dealer Practice Group and concentrates on commercial litigation and business counseling, with an extensive background in law governing the rights and responsibilities of automobile dealers.
Mr. Weller is general counsel for the Detroit Auto Dealers Association, the North American International Auto Show, and the Metro Detroit Cadillac Dealers Association. He counsels automobile dealers and defends their interests in administrative proceedings and litigation, and is registered with the state of Michigan as a legislative lobbyist.
He joined Abbott Nicholson as a partner in 2003.
Mr. Weller was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan in 1980. He was admitted to the federal bar for the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, the U.S. District Court-Eastern District of Michigan, and the U.S. District Court-Western District of Michigan that same year.
He earned his law degree at Wayne State University Law School and his bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University.
