John F. Youngblood / Shareholder
John F. Youngblood is a shareholder who is a leader in the field of laws and regulations governing the operation of motor vehicle dealerships, and is highly skilled in labor and corporate law.
He joined Abbott Nicholson as a partner in 1978 after six years as a partner with another Detroit area law firm. He is co-chair of the Motor Vehicle Dealer Group. Mr. Youngblood also is general counsel to several regional motor vehicle dealer advertising associations and frequently gives presentations to industry groups and other professionals on the laws that affect the motor vehicle dealership industry.
He was admitted to the Michigan Bar and the federal bar for the U.S. District Court-Eastern District of Michigan in 1973.
From 1993-1996, he was a member of the board of directors of Meritas, a prestigious international affiliation of law firms then known as Commercial Law Affiliates. He was twice elected to serve on the City Council for the City of Grosse Pointe and has served on the boards charitable and civic organizations.
Mr. Youngblood is a member of the Labor Relations Law, and Corporation, Finance and Business Law sections of the Michigan Bar Association.
He earned his law degree and bachelor’s degree from Wayne State University.
Mr. Youngblood lives in Grosse Pointe. He and his wife have three daughters and eight grandchildren.
