Christopher R. Gura is a shareholder of Abbott Nicholson who focuses on resolving disputes for individuals and businesses. His work has given him broad experience in all facets of dispute resolution in state and federal courts.

Mr. Gura has litigated cases involving a broad range of general business issues, including breach of contract, employment discrimination and wrongful discharge actions, Consumer Protection Act violations, construction lien claims, landlord-tenant disagreements, and real estate disputes.

He joined the firm in 2003 and became a partner in 2013.

Mr. Gura was admitted to the Michigan Bar in 2002 and the federal bar for the U.S. District Court-Eastern District of Michigan in 2003 and the U.S. District Court-Western District of Michigan in 2012.

He earned his law degree at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, cum laude, and his bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University. During law school, Gura was an associate editor of Law Review and authored “United States v. Faasse: The Beginning of the End of the Child Support Recovery Act?”

Mr. Gura is a member of the Federal Bar Association, Macomb County Bar Association, and is an active member of the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association, where he serves as director, and is past president of the Barristers, the young lawyers association of the DMBA. He also sits on the Board of Directors for the Chippewa Valley Educational Foundation.

He lives in Macomb Township, Mich.
