Our Attorneys

Timothy J. Kramer is a shareholder of Abbott Nicholson and chairs the Family Law Practice Group. He specializes in family law, landlord-tenant disputes, construction law, secured transactions, and commercial litigation.

He also is a member of the firm’s Litigation, Motor Vehicle Dealer Group, and Real Estate sections. He joined the firm in 1987 and became a partner in 1994. He has lectured on construction liens and bonds to owners, developers and contractors.

Mr. Kramer is qualified to mediate and arbitrate all types of family law matters and has experience in such methods of alternative dispute resolution. He is also a case evaluator for the Macomb County Circuit Court.

Mr. Kramer was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan in 1984 and the federal bar for the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals in 1985. He is a member of the state bar’s Family Law, Litigation, and Real Property Law sections. He also is a member of the Detroit Metropolitan and Macomb County bar associations.

He earned his law degree from the Detroit College of Law (now Michigan State University College of Law) and his bachelor’s degree from Oakland University.

He lives in Grosse Pointe Park, Mich., and is married with two children.
