Kristen is an associate attorney practicing primarily in the firm’s Litigation, Municipal Law and Auto Dealership practice groups. She also supports the firm's Corporate and Tax/Employee Benefits practice groups. Kristen counsels businesses, individuals and public sector clients with respect to business transactions, general corporate matters, property matters and labor/employment matters. She works closely with clients and represents their interests in court appearances, depositions and legal writing. Kristen has experience in drafting municipal ordinances and assisting with the drafting of the state statutes. She represents municipal clients in Section 1983 lawsuits and other state and federal court litigation. Kristen has extensive appellate experience, including drafting appeal briefs in the Michigan Court of Appeals and applications for leave to appeal in the Michigan Supreme Court. She represents auto dealer clients in various litigation matters, including dealer termination disputes. Kristen also represents and counsels clients with respect to probate litigation.
Kristen is admitted to practice law in the State of Michigan, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan and the United States District Court for the Western District of Michigan. Kristen is a member of the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association.
Kristen is a graduate of Cranbrook Kingswood in Bloomfield Hills, MI (2002). She received her undergraduate degree from Boston College (B.A., magna cum laude, 2005) and her law degree from Wayne State University School of Law (J.D., cum laude, 2008).
While attending Wayne Law, Kristen co-authored a case study discussing material adverse change clauses in acquisition agreements (Accredited Home Lenders v. Lone Star Funds: A MAC Case Study, http://ssrn.com/abstract=1092115) with Professor Steven M. Davidoff. Kristen was also a member of the Small Business Enterprises and Nonprofit Corporations Clinic at Wayne Law, where she helped represent start-up for-profit and non-profit entities in the city of Detroit. Also during law school, Kristen gained experience by working as a part-time law clerk at two metropolitan Detroit area law firms. In 2008, Kristen was the recipient of the Deloitte Tax LLP Annual Award.
Kristen is actively involved in the metropolitian Detroit community. She is a director and vice-president of the Baiardi Family Foundation, a private charitable foundation. Kristen has served for several years on the Board of Directors of the Kingswood Alumnae Association and the Cranbrook Kingswood Alumni Association. She was elected to serve as the President - Elect of the Cranbrook Kingswood Alumni Association for the 2011-2012 year and will serve on the Cranbrook Schools Board of Governors. Kristen is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Auburn Hills Community Foundation.
